天下父母心 - The Love of Parents
天下父母心 (Tian Xia Fu Mu Xin) ,which can be translated into "The Love of Parents" is a modern Taiwanese drama shot and filmed in Taiwan.
Filming began in September 2009 and continues to this day. To date, there are already 220 episodes (and counting!!!). Amazing, isn't it? And it still continues to be one of the most popular dramas in Taiwan today!
What surprised me most since the first episode was not the amazing ability of the actors to speak fluent Taiwanese Hokkien, but the rich, captivating, and moving story-line in which the drama rides on. Ever since I started watching this drama, there hasn't been a day in which I have not spent a moment thinking about what would happen in the next episode.

Welcome to Hip Hokkien!
Hello all you guys out there!
Hip Hokkien is THE site dedicated to everything associated to Hokkien culture, Hokkien music, the Hokkien language, and people of Hokkien descent and its preservation.
As many of you may or may not be aware, Hokkien culture contains a rich history unlike any of that of other Chinese groups. Its language is one of the oldest (if not, the OLDEST) chinese languages in present use today. It was originally language of the Tang Dyansty, containing grammatical forms and words not seen or used in present-day Mandarin or in any other Chinese "dialects" spoken today.
Although history and tradition play a big role in Hokkien culture, the site will mainly focus on current trends in the status of the Hokkien community - in Mainland China, Taiwan, and abroad - and will reference topics such as movies, dramas, songs, and other apsects of hip Hokkien pop culture. Because as we all know, the past is the past. The future is made TODAY. To ensure that the Hokkien language and culture (may it be modern or not) not only continues to thrive, but also to spread and gain influence, we must keep the tradition alive within ourselves as well as sharing it with others.
